A Hotspot is generally a recurring issue or a procedural element (such as "take photo") that you want to pay special attention to or target for heightened awareness. While all recurring issues are opportunities for improvement, and all procedures should be followed, Hotspots are your top priorities, the ones you want to focus on now.
Identify Hotspots
The first step to identifying a Hotspot is to watch what is going on at the jobsite. A recurring issue should be prevented from repeating. Calling special attention to an inspection checkpoint to ensure a task is performed a certain way or completed properly will eliminate that issue. A Hotspot will improve training and awareness.
