Instructions
1. Go to: Start New > Start New Report.
- Loading Data Bar: When you see the Loading Data bar, it means that FTQ360 is downloading all of your new report selection data such as Projects, Phases, Location, Equipment, Checklists, etc. onto your device.
- You can bypass the data loading time by clicking the "Pause" box. Updates can be paused for up to 4 hours.
2. Select from the available lists.
3. Continue your selection process. You may be asked to select the following:
- Division
- Project/Community
- Phase/Lot
- Location
- Checklist
- Equipment
- ITP Plan Item (if using ITP)
- Responsible Party
- Responsible Crew or Person
NOTE: The colored tool icon to the left of the checklist name tells you the inspection status of that checklist for that project or phase. If multiple inspections have been conducted, the icon color will be associated with the latest (or most recent) inspection.
You can scan down the checklists to easily see completed inspections that still have open items. This is important to know when deficiencies are the only thing left to do to pass the inspection.
4. Complete your Inspection, Audit, Test or Report. Below is an explanation of the various sections on the screen.
BLUE HEADER
A. Checklist/Report - Name and number of the checklist that you're using.
B. Inspection Data Line - This shows you the date the inspection was last updated and by who.
C. Project/Community - Name of the Project/Community for the inspection.
D. Responsible Party - The Primary Responsible Party for the work or test being performed. Often this is the Superintendent. If the inspection or test is task-specific such as Concrete Forming, it will often be the concrete contractor whose work you are inspecting.
E. Location/Ref # - Optional field to enter additional information
F. Status -“Status” is automatically set based on the FTQ, QC, or OPN check boxes. To override the automatic status, click the arrow icon and check the Override box. Then select your preferred Status: "Pass," "Complete/WIP," "Fail" and other selections.
- Draft = Inspection is still in process
- Drafts are not included in online or auto-reports. It is assumed that the person who set the inspection to “Draft” did not want it distributed.
- Incomplete = Some items not checked
- Incomplete w/Open = Not all checkpoints/items are checked and there are Open (OPN) issues
- Complete w/Open = All checkpoints/items are checked but there are Open (OPN) issues
- Pass = All checkpoints/items are either FTQ or QC
- Fail = The inspection did not pass
- Report Complete/WIP (Work in Process)
- The “Complete/WIP” status is intended for use when the inspection or portion of the inspection is deemed complete for the time being and may be added to at another date. This is also often used as a kind of a catchall status when “Pass”, “Fail” or “Incomplete” isn’t quite right. (Selecting "Complete/WIP" will remove open deficiencies from reports, such as the 405-Open and Ready for Review Deficiency Detail Report.)
G. Due Date - The date the inspection or test must be completed. Click on the calendar icon to select a date the inspection and all corrections must be completed.
- Defaults to 3 business days from today. You can change the default number of days in Setup > Customization > Customization Preferences > "Default Due Date"

Checkpoint ID
Look closely and you can see a checkpoint ID to the right of the checkpoint. Checkpoint IDs are unique identifiers in the same way that inspection IDs are unique identifiers of inspections. Copy the checkpoint ID and you’ll see that it is actually a hyperlink to the checkpoint. Pasted into email or messaging apps and it is a handy way to bring someone to the inspection and automatically navigate to the checkpoint.
NEW!
Camera Menu
The three lines to the right of the camera icon is a new menu that provides new inspection checkpoint features. Click the bar and you'll get a menu to select:
- Add a Comment: Send and receive messages to other FTQ360 users on your team. This feature allows you to make back and forth comments that do not print on the official Inspection PDF report. Click here for more info.

Q. Notes & Comments - Use the comment boxes beneath the checkpoint to add data or observation comments for each inspection item. For more information about entering notes and comments, click here.
- You can use the basic HTML/Rich Text editor to change the appearance and add formatting to the notes on inspections. Select the "calendar" icon to insert date and time stamp, select the "arrow" icon to insert GPS coordinates, and select the "sun" icon to insert current NOAA weather forecast.
- When pasting content from another source, the HTML is transformed and cleaned up to only contain tags supported by PDF reporter.
R. Inspector Instructions - These are instructions or reference notes to use when conducting the inspection.
S. Data and Image Checkpoints - These checkpoints allow for observations or notes, rather than an inspection. They do not have the four inspection checkboxes.
T. Camera Tool - Click the camera icon to take and insert pictures, signatures, and files to your inspection items.
- Bulk uploads are limited to no more than 10 files/images at one time with a 50 mb file size limit. If you do exceed these limits, you will see a message that says, "Up to 10 files can be uploaded at one time. Each file may be up to 50 MB. Please try again."
- Now you have the freedom to take whatever photos or videos even if you are not sure of the exact checkpoint they should go to. You can copy and paste them to the proper checkpoint later. Just copy the photo to the clipboard and then paste from the camera icon.
-
The iOS FTQ360 Mobile app V8.4 takes advantage of a recent iOS update allows access direct access to the file system on your device. Now you can attach up to 10 files at a time directly from emails and other applications to FTQ360 inspections. This can include test reports, videos, and operating documents. The app is available now on the app store.
-
View any file type from the new iOS FTQ360 Mobile app. You could always view pictures and Pdf files by tapping on the thumbnail right on your inspection screen. This new capability allows you to tap on any kind of file to automatically call the external apps to view and work with specialty files directly. And when you are done, to easily go back to FTQ360 where you left off. For example if you have an Excel spreadsheet, it will open the file in your Excel app. Also, if you have a drawing file, it will open the file in your drawing application. Specification documents are available offline when the document management app has the capability to redirect to locally stored files when the mobile device is offline.

Click the button to insert the checkpoint. Click it again to add the checkpoint again.
W. Private Comments - Comments streamline field communications. With it, you have the ability to involve any number of people in back and forth discussions surrounding resolution of an issue. Briefly, it works like this: You can add a comment to any checkpoint and mention another FTQ360 user. In less than 5 minutes they will automatically get an email with your comment and a link back to the inspection so they can reply back and add their own comment. You are notified of their reply in the same fashion. Comments are intended as informal communications, therefore they are NOT included in the inspection report Pdf printouts. Click here for more information.

Items marked "Ready for Review" will not be reported to the Responsible Party as Overdue. However, the item will remain Open until the status is changed to "QC."
This feature doesn't need to be used every time a deficiency is marked "Open" or "QC," only when a follow-up verification is needed to ensure the job was completed accurately.
DD. Corrective Action Comment Field - This optional text field is to add comments about the corrections that were completed on the OPN item.
- Inspectors can use the basic HTML/Rich Text editor to change the appearance and add formatting to the notes on inspections. This will help highlight important information and make long blocks of text more readable. Bold, italic, underline, and bullets are available.

Hover over the "R" column for any checkpoint and you'll be able to change the value. For example, 1 - may be low risk and 5 may be a high risk.
This field can also be used for other values such as charge backs. The number is displayed on reports but is currently not calculated or sortable by value.
HH. Camera icon - Use the camera icon to take a photo using your device camera, upload images or other files from your device files, or add an electronic signature.

- Refinements to the inspection saving handles interrupted uploads like offline inspections that still need to be synced using standard reminders. For more information, check out Upload Offline Inspections
- When multiple users are working on the same inspection, both users will know when the other makes a change. When changes occur, the familiar “refresh from server" icon in the footer will appear in orange. This allows you to refresh your inspection with the new information. Your current entries on the inspection screen are protected by first saving them to the server, then clicking the refresh icon to load the new data from the server. Your updates do not not overwrite entries made by other inspectors on other checkpoints. With this feature inspection teams can work on the same inspection report on different devices at the same time. Also managers can review and update inspection reports as inspectors continue their work.
